Nansubuga Fathia
Nansubuga Fathia, a bright girl from Mukono, Uganda, lives with her mother who earns a modest income by working in other people’s gardens. Despite walking two hours daily to reach Springs Care Primary School, Fathia remains committed to her education and dreams of attending university. Her family of seven lives in a one-room mud house with a dirt floor and iron sheet roofing, lacking basic necessities like bedding and school supplies. Often missing lunch and struggling to afford fees, Fathia sometimes misses class when sent home. UREEP seeks to support children like Fathia by easing these burdens and enabling uninterrupted learning.
