Namusisi Agnes
Namusisi Agnes, a determined young girl from Mukono, Uganda, embodies resilience despite her challenging circumstances. Living with her single mother, who earns barely enough income from working in people’s gardens, Agnes walks two hours to reach school, often without breakfast. Their household of eight lives in a small, two-room mud house with limited resources, lacking sufficient bedding and basic school supplies. While her mother struggles to cover school fees, Agnes excels academically, dreaming of becoming a teacher. However, her educational journey is threatened by poverty and the constant risk of being sent home due to unpaid fees. UREEP aims to empower single mothers and children like Agnes.
