Kakaire Victoria
Kakaire Victoria, a young girl from Kawuku in Mukono District, Uganda, dropped out of school in Primary Two due to poverty and lack of basic requirements. She lives with her single mother, Namatovu Sanyu, who earns a scant income by working in people’s gardens. Their household of eight occupies a two-room mud house with a dirt floor and no bedding for all children. Only one child currently attends school. Victoria dreams of returning to school, but her family cannot afford fees or necessities. UREEP aims to support children like Victoria by addressing financial hardship and helping them reclaim their right to education.
